Box 358315 Pittsburgh, PA 15251—5315 Subject: Original Application for Certification of 2.4 GHz Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Transmitter Within Wireless PC LAN Card, FCC ID: H8NWLCO10D53 Gentlemen: Enclosed find Askey Computer Corporation‘s Equipment Authorization dated May 19, 2000. This system is in compliance with Part 15, Subpart C and in accordance with §15.247 of the FCC Rules. The subject device is a Wireless PC LAN Card with 2.4 GHz Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum Transceiver (DSS). This device‘s transmitter operates on 11 channels within the 2400 ~ 2483.5 MHz frequency band and is being submitted for Certification in accordance with §15.247. This device‘s receiver is in compliance with general conditions in §15.5. Also, we understand as this device is intended to be inserted into host PC without any hard wire connection it is not classified as Class B Computing Device Peripheral subject to either Certification or DoC — if this understanding is not correct please advise us accordingly. The provided test data was performed on two separate representative samples at low, middle and high frequency channels 1, 2 and 11. Each channel frequency is approximate and may vary from production lot to production lot. The provided test report was generated in accordance with ANSI C63.4 and in accordance with DSS measurement guidelines, including band edge, occupied bandwidth, transmitter power density and processing gain. This is the first time this test site has performed DSS type measurements and would welcome any suggestions and/or comments regarding their reported test results.
