RE: FCC ID: GQ4-32T_ATCB003632

The following is in response to the comments made on the above referenced application:

   1. Please note that the report and other documentation states that the device is being
      certified under 15.231a.

Yes, this product is subject to FCC Part 15.231, including subsections (a), (c), and (e).

   2. Please note that certain requirements exist for devices under this rule part that have not
      been addressed in the documentation.

We understand that these rules apply.

   3. For example, while the report states that the device is activated automatically, it does not
say how it is automatically activated (what activates the device) or if activation is on a
predetermined scheduled periodic event (not allowed).

Our apologies, the test report should more explicitly state “periodic transmission” as the
primary mode of operation. The device in question is a Tire Pressure Monitoring transmitter,
and like all those filed previously, it periodically transmits tire pressure data and is being filed
under FCC part 15.231(e); note the limit in the data table. The device is also capable of being
automatically actuated (via LF interrogation) by trained service personnel, and (per FCC
correspondence) those modes fall under FCC part 15.231(a)(5). The test report has been
updated to include this additional information.

   4. Please note that the manual provided only has FCC statements etc and does not contain
      any operator instructions.

The User’s manual is not yet available as the device under test is an OEM device meant for
the automotive industry. The User’s manual for the automobile is generally completed years
after the device is certified, and the end user does not directly operate the product in
question. The statements provided will be included in the final user’s manual.

   5. Please also note that the operational description does not explain how this device meets
      15.231(a) requirements.

This is now fully addressed in the test report.

   6. Please address all of the restrictions for devices operating under 15.231 including; non-
predetermined periodic operation, total transmission time not exceeding two seconds per
      hour, etc.

These are now fully addressed in the test report.
