Carson’s Rule Occupied Bandwidth

Dear Mr. Johnson,

This letter is to attest the occupied bandwidth of the BLX1 and BLX2 transmitters operating in the H11
and J11 bands. The equations below justify the bandwidth assessment for emissions designators using
Carson’s Rule:

Carson’s Rule: 𝐵𝑊𝑀𝐴𝑋 = 2 ∗ (∆𝑓 + 𝑓𝑚 )

Where: ∆𝑓 = 14,950𝐻𝑧 (Audio frequency range as specified in user guide, 50-15,000Hz)

        𝑓𝑚 = 39,000𝐻𝑧 (Maximum frequency deviation, as specified in tune-up procedure)

        𝐵𝑊𝑀𝐴𝑋 = 107,900𝐻𝑧

Regards,
