                                    CFS8DL-GRIPDF1 FCC COVER LETTER

Date: 8/20/2019

To Whom It May Concern:

This letter is to inform you of our request for a new certification for our transceiver known as CFS8DL-GRIPDF1. It is a
deviation of a device previously certified (FCC ID: CFS8DL-GRIPDF) with the Wiselink radio block & antenna removed
from the main PCB. There are no other changes – either mechanically or electrically – made to the device. The
transceiver now contains two (2) on-board radios both of which will operate under Part 15.247.

This product is a derivative of a previously certified device, the GRIP 7” AIO Panel (FCC ID: CFS8DL-GRIPAIO7). The
main PCB of the two panels, which contains all radio circuitry, are identical. The difference between the two panel is
limited to the front panel interface – the 7” AIO contains an LCD touch-screen display while the GRIP Defender has a
push-button keypad and a small LED display. As such, the front enclosure is also different to accommodate the alternate
version. Only radiated spurious emissions & Bandedge testing of all on-board radios was revisited as part of this
certification. The conducted antenna port testing will be leveraged from the similarly certified device. Ademco Inc. takes
full responsibility for the data that is being referenced per KDB 484596.

The table below shows evidence of the spot check (conducted output power) performed between the two devices:

ORIGINAL DATA (dBm) NEW DATA (dBm) DELTA
   RADIO CHANNEL
                                ID: CFS8DL-GRIPAIO7 ID: CFS8DL-GRIPDF1 (dB)
 RF6 ANT1 21.34 21.5 0.16
 RF6 ANT2 Worse-case 22.37 22.0 -0.37
 Bluetooth -0.08 -0.30 -0.22
The data is valid since the delta is within 0.5dB.

Regards,

       X
