To whom it may concern,

Below is a copy of a note from the applicant. It describes correspondence with the FCC
in 1995 regarding the testing of the applicant’s “Homelink II” series. The actual
correspondence is attached as three ‘pdf’ and one ‘jpg’ file.

The current application concerns the applicant’s “Homelink III” series. This series
updates the design. However, the test philosophy and test methods as agreed in 1995,
were maintained for the testing of this product.

“…Attached as three *.pdf files is the letter to Ed Gibbons in 1995
on the test method for Homelink…At the time, the middle
frequency of 330MHz was proposed, but it is actually a restricted
frequency. The original design targets were 220 to 440 MHz.
After further market study and encountering design limitations, the
final range was set to 286 to 420 MHz, excluding the restricted
          bands.

The mathematical middle frequency of 353 is virtually unused.
However 310 MHz is a very common frequency for garage door
openers, so it was selected as the middle point….”
