SUBJECT: GN NETCOM INC FCC ID: BCE-GN9020

To Whom It May Concern;

Item 2) 15.214:
According to section 15.214 of the FCC rules cordless telephones shall
incorporate circuitry which makes use of a digital security code to provide
protection against unintentional access to the public switched telephone
network by the base unit and unintentional ringing by the handset. There
must be provision for at least 256 possible discrete digital codes.

Please note this application is not a cordless phone but a cordless headset
(accessory) for a corded phone.

Access to the public telephone network is not possible without using the existing corded
telephone. The cordless headset alone cannot make any access to the public telephone
network. Also answering of calls is only possible if the user lift the handset from the
corded phone. For evidence please see the Users Manual. Nevertheless I can confirm that
this EUT meets this requirement. The security codes are not limited to 256, they are in
principle infinite.

After some difficulty the manufacturer has agreed to put the FCC ID on both the base &
headset units.

Sincerely,

Sid Sanders
