Box 358315 Piusburgh, PA 15251—5315 Gentlemen: Purstant to our discussions with Mr. Bruce A. Romano, Associate ChiefLegal Counsel for the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Office of Engineering and Technology (OET), we are submitting an Application for Equipment Authorization on FCC Form 731 using the OET‘s onlinefling system. This application, filed in accordance with FCC Part 2933 (a), requests a change in the FCC identifier for transceiver, the VHF—700A. The original FCC identifier as granted by the FCC on September 7, 1994 is AJKPN822—0693.. We are requesting that a new FCC identifier be granted for this equipment under identifier AJKSURPN822—0603. The change is requested to add the Manufacturer Code to the FCC identifier. While not required by FCC Rules, the Manufacturer Code was added to the FCC identifier because of personnel confusion over FCC Rule changes that eliminated the requirement for inserting the Code. As a result, the Manufacturer Code has continued to be applied to this product We are submitting a complete copyof the originalfiling documents from 1994 since we are informed by Mr. Ramono that the original filing is no longer available to the OET. The statement required under FCC Part 2.933(b) is also enclosed as Exhibit 1. In accordance with FCC Part $7.147(d), a complete copyof this application is being forwarded to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
