Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
An STA is required for University Cubesat Mission: CaNop. Data will be sent using the LinkStarSTX3 simplex radio and the LinkStar duplex radio system. These units are based on the Globalstar STX3 simplex radio and Globalstar GSP1720 respectively. Data will be transmitted from the STX3 and GSP1720 to the Globalstar satellite network. Commands to control the radio and satellite will be transmitted from the ground through the Globalstar satellite network through the GSP1720. The LinkStarSTX3 can be turned off from the ground via the GSP1720. The GSP1720 can only be turned off once the LinkStarSTX3 is turned off; the GSP1720 cannot be turned off from the ground as long as the LinkStarSTX3 is active.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The CaNOP CubeSat mission objective is to provide an educational experience in aerospace engineering to undergraduate students through designing, building, testing, and operating a 3U CubeSat designed to replicate early Landsat remote sensing capabilities. To achieve this objective, a multispectral linescan imaging sensor and associated optics capable of resolving a ground sample distance of 60 m and a scene size of 120 km will be utilized.
