Overview
The product is used to monitor medication adherence and consists of 2 parts:
   1. An ingested “Tag”, contained in a standard medication capsule, when the capsule dissolves the
tag becomes active in the body.
   2. A “Reader” worn on the upper body hanging from a lanyard. The reader weights about 83
      grams. The Re

Figures 1 through 4 should give you an idea of these components.

The tag is an intentional radiator under FCC part 15 and powered by a G.I. cell that uses stomach acid to
activate/power it. The tag operating frequency is around 300 MHz and the transmit time in the body is
about 20 minutes.

The reader is also a FCC Part 15 device and has several functions:
    1. Read the tag at 300 MHz.
    2. Collect capsule/Tag detect information and transmit this information to a cell-phone app via
       BTLE at 2.4 GHz.

There is a single button to turn the Reader on/off. The Reader has both an accelerometer and an ECG
receiver inside. The accelerometer is used to keep the Reader awake or to place it in a sleep state after
10 minutes of inactivity. The ECG receiver is there to only identify the user. The ECG information is only
used internally by the reader. The Reader is powered by an internal 3.7 V Lithium-ion battery only. The
battery is not user replaceable. The battery is charged wirelessly using a standard Qi-compliant charger.
The charger is a purchase “off the shelf” type of item and has all its regulatory approvals. The Reader
has no external interfaces (USB, serial, etc.).
