Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
XTAR requests a STA to support continued demonstration for a US Air Force end user of an X-band SATCOM terminal that will operate in X-band (7.25-8.4 GHz). A STA, 1026-EX-ST-2021, has been previously granted for this service. Additional time is required to satisfy USAFR evaluation requirements.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  This STA will authorize periodic operation of an IDS BB45X SATCOM terminal, to be placed upon USAF C-130 Hurricane Hunter aircraft. Previous STA (1026-EX-ST-2021) approved for this service, granted on 18 Aug 2021, will expire on 1 Oct 2021. Additional time, through 2/18/2022, is requested to support more thorough evaluation by the USAFR end user. AFSMO has indicated support for this service 2/18/2022.
