Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This is a precautionary request to extend our current experimental STA license to complete development of our part 15 compliant system. WaveSense is working on a new autonomous vehicle lanekeeping safety sensor that works in snow and fog and where current approaches fail. It may also improve current lanekeeping failure rates by several orders of magnitude when integrated even in clear weather conditions. Specifically, this sensor is a new type of ground penetrating radar (Localizing GPR) developed by MIT Lincoln Laboratory and licensed for commercial use by WaveSense. The resulting lives saved and injuries prevented may be significant. As testing is required to determine if any modifications are viable for localization, we at WaveSense, including the former PI of the MIT Lincoln Laboratory Program, are asking for a limited duration commercial focused STA to test the current Localizing GPR system and develop an FCC part 15 compliant version of the system for broad scale automotive safety use.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  This operation will focus on testing and developing the first FCC part 15 compliant variant of the Localizing GPR system. This is a precautionary extension request to enable completion of this task. This operation will focus on testing and developing the first FCC part 15 compliant variant of the Localizing GPR system. Operation of the current - above part 15 - system will be required in order to develop a functional sub-part 15 system. Testing will include driving on roadways in a range of conditions to test modifications to the radar antenna and transceiver. Operations may involve a contracted partner organization as appropriate.
