Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The Mobile and Portable Radio Research Group at Virginia Tech has research interests in the new TV Band Devices (see ET Docket 04-186 and 02-380) that have been approved by the Commission. We are interested in performing experiments relating to these devices, and require an STA to perform these experiments.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Testing prototype TV Band Devices in Blacksburg, VA to determine how their operation will affect other co-channel and adjacent channel users. We intend to test prototype TV Band Devices in Blacksburg, VA to determine how their operation will affect other co-channel and adjacent channel users, such as wireless microphones and other professional audio equipment that is commonly operated in the Television Bands. Frequencies will be coordinated prior to operation by the local SBE frequency coordinator.
