MITRE is conducting a set of experiments with an experimental satellite payload. Varying
bandwidths and frequencies are needed to evaluate its performance on-orbit. Frequency
authorization is needed for experimental communications with the small satellite in low-earth
orbit. The MITRE earth station will be communicating with the experimental space station
operated by Analytical Space, Inc. (ASI). The launch date for this satellite payload is scheduled
for November 10, 2019. ASI has filed an STA application (1560-EX-ST-2019) that includes
operation in the 2395-2450 MHz band, among other frequencies. MITRE is seeking
authorization for the corresponding earth stations in this application, and in a separate application
(0770-EX-CN-2019) for an earth station operating on frequencies in the 5 GHz range.
