MITRE April 9, 2018 The MITRE Corporation is a not—for—profit Federally Funded Research & Development Center (FFRDC) that assists the U.S. government with scientific research and analysis, development and acquisition, and/or systems engineering and integration. The SATCOM and Network Research Laboratory, located in Colorado Springs and established in 1998, evaluates commercial communications technology for implementation in Department of Defense applications. This work is performed under Air Force contract FA8702—18—C—0001. The MITRE Corporation researches, purchases and evaluates commercial equipment, to include modems, amplifiers, multiplexers and VSAT networks for U.S. government applicability. As part of ongoing evaluations MITRE leases satellite bandwidth to perform over—the—air research and evaluations of the commercial equipment and require FCC licensing. The MITRE Corporation has been performing these evaluations since December 2001 and will continue into the foreseeable future. TCO3 nzmzs ue Brian K.
