Question 7: Purpose of Experiment

a) Cessna is integrating video capability into a new multi-mission aircraft currently in
development. The video will be transmitted from the aircraft to a receiving station on
the ground. Specifications for the transmitter and antenna are contained in separate
attachments to this application. Development is ongoing, as are demonstrations to
potential customers requiring the video capability.

b) The transmitter must be tested while installed on the aircraft in all modes to ensure
that it performs as required, does not interfere with the functioning of any other
system on the aircraft, and that other systems on the aircraft do not interfere with the
video functions.

c) The capability to transmit real time video from the aircraft to receiving stations on the
ground is a required capability for aircraft intended to perform intelligence,
surveillance and reconnaissance functions.
