                          Question 7: Purpose of Experiment

a) Cessna is integrating synthetic aperture radar capabilities into a new multi-mission
aircraft currently in development. The radar antenna is mounted on the aircraft, and
the radiation beam is tightly steerable to focus on specific points on the ground for
imaging during flight. The aircraft will fly and operate the I-Master radar between 5
and 17 thousand feet around the requested locations.

b) The radar will be used to image the ground during events, and tested while installed
on the aircraft in all modes to ensure that it performs as required, does not interfere
with the functioning of any other system on the aircraft, and that other systems on the
aircraft do not interfere with the radar functions.

c) This capability is needed for the aircraft to fulfill intelligence, surveillance and
   reconnaissance functions.

Very Respectfully,
