Response to FCC Request for Info-File #0742-EX-PL-2015
                         Correspondence Reference Number: 30146

November 23, 2015
Dear Ms. Nguyen:
Thank you for considering and reviewing my FCC Experimental License Application, File # 0742-EX-
PL-2015, to allow the operations of our Ka-Band antenna system that will be installed on our Thales
rooftop building at 51 Discovery Irvine, CA 92618.
This Exhibit E document is to address your current request for information:
    1. ERP and output power for the frequency band 19.2-20.2 GHz.
    2. Name and telephone of person who will terminate the system if interference occurs.
Please find the following our responses:
For item#1, since the MCS-8200 user terminal is receiving at 19.7GHz-20.2 GHz frequency band,
there is no transmit at this K-Band, and therefore, no ERP data is available for the receiving band on
this terminal. I, instead, have included an additional Exhibit in the application, Exhibit D, which
provides the antenna gain plots for the skew angles of 0⁰, 45⁰, and 90⁰, at each of the three
different frequency points, 19.7GHz, 19.95GHz, and 20.2 GHz. Please reference to the Attachment
Schedule S documents of FCC File Number: SES-LIC-20120426-00397, Apr 24 2012, for ERP data
from the Inmarsat Global Express Satellites, I5.
As shown by the receive patterns in Exhibit D, the Honeywell MCS-8200 user terminal does not
meet the antenna patterns at all off-axis angles and all skew angles per FCC Code Title 47, Section
25.209(a)2 and (b)1. However, we think that compliance with the receive antenna gain patterns per
25.209 is not applicable since the antenna performance shown in Exhibit B is fully compliant with
FCC Section 25.138. Thales acknowledges the exceeding in our Honeywell MCS-8200 user terminal
receiver performance and agrees to accept the interference by the adjacent FSS satellites to the
extent that the receiving antenna performance requirements of Section 25.209 are not met.
For item#2, should there be an RF interference and/or other concerns that require our terminal to
shutdown, please immediately contact Thales at:
