Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The proposed testing and evaluation is expected to occur using a Sikorsky S-70 rotorcraft asset at and around its Stuart Training Academy facility, for a period not to extend 14 days in July, 2018. Accordingly, an STA is the appropriate method for licensing these operations. The frequencies identified are consistent with those that variants of the Sikorsky Black Hawk platform require in military and civilian operations.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Evaluation of APCO P25 radio performance using the Troop Commander Antenna on the Sikorsky Black Hawk platform. Applicant seeks Special Temporary Authority to evaluate APCO P25 radio performance using the Troop Commander Antenna on the Sikorsky Black Hawk platform. There is minimal data for the Troop Commander antenna performance at the higher frequencies, so the purpose of the testing is to collect data to determine if the Troop Commander antenna will support APCO P25 at an effective range for the program.
