Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The STA will support space to earth communicaton from Network and Operations DEmonStration (Nodes), a pair of cubesats, via S band Microhard radios as well as UHF beacon. It will also allow experiments in communications between the satellites using AstroDev Lithium 1 radios. This spacecraft was put in operation May 11 2016, and is operating under STA 0801-EX-ST-2015, which is valid until July 1 2016. Because the deployment was delayed, it is necessary to obtain a new STA for the actual mission duration, which will be until November 30, 2016.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Space to earth communicaton from Network and Operations DEmonStration (Nodes), a pair of cubesats, via S band Microhard radios as well as UHF beacon. Nodes is a technology demonstration of a pair of low-cost 1.5U CubeSats in Low Earth Orbit (LEO) with advanced cross-link and downlink communications capability, suitable as a platform for Space Weather or other science applications requiring geographically distributed, synchronized data acquisition. Radios include one Stensat beacon transmitter per satellite, and one Microhard 2420 transceiver, and one AstroDev Lithium 1 radio.
