An STA is necessary for us to operate an Automatic Shipborne Identification (AIS) system at the National Academy of Sciences Transportation Research Board Committee For Shipboard Display of AIS in New Orleans.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The purpose of operation is to demonstrate an Automatic Shipborne Identification (AIS) transponder system. The system is used for communication, identification and positioning of ships. The transponder consists of a GPS receiver, a communication processor and a VHF radio transceiver.
