Narrative Exhibit Describing Operation

This application, filed by Robert Bosch, GmbH, an international manufacturer of tools,
automotive equipment and consumer products, requests special temporary authority during a 6-
day period beginning January 22, 2018 and ending January 27, 2018 to operate a new Bosch
product, a mechanical jackhammer, at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada
for demonstration purposes during the World of Concrete Convention. Bosch would operate the
system in the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention and Trade Center, located at 3150
Paradise Road, Las Vegas, Nevada 89109.

The Bosch hammer incorporates a fixed mounted tracking sensor for theft protection, a GSM
module and a GPS receiver. Demonstrated will be marketing samples. Each of 12 devices at the
show will be marked “Marketing Sample” and will incorporate GPS receivers and an FCC-
certified GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA module (Cinterion Wireless Model Class B
computing device peripheral, FCC ID QIPEHS5-US) using the frequency ranges 824-849 MHz,
869-894 MHz, 1850-1910 MHz and 1930-1990 MHz. The power level from the GSM module
will not exceed 1Watt. Roaming service will be provided through A1 Digital International
GmbH, a member of Telekom Austria digital, a member of America Movil.

The composite device is not certified in the United States as of yet. Versions for the United
States market are under development. Hence the need for the requested STA for this pre-
production demonstration.

by any other convention exhibitor or any licensed entity during the event, all operation will cease
