Message:

This marine navigation radar is similar to the radar found on LPD ships, but the radar raw data is useful
for more general radar processing activities. Raytheon will utilize the radar output to test ship navigation
processing software, network distribution of radar data, and processing of radar data in navigation
consoles.

In support of the US Navy, LPD Program, Raytheon maintains a Sustaining Engineering Environment
Lab. LPD 17, LPD 18, LPD19, and LPD20 ships have been delivered with several follow on-hulls in
different phases of completion. LPD 17 is currently deployed with the U.S. Navy. The ships are predicted
to have a life expectancy of 40 years. The US Navy, PMS-317, and PMS470 have contracted Raytheon
to provide engineering support for technical refresh of ship electronic systems. Based on this need,
Raytheon requests a five-year license.
