Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Parallel Wireless seeks to perform a demonstration of a prototype cellular base station in the Band 14 public safety LTE band. Parallel Wireless’s existing licenses do not cover the area and dates of the demonstration. Specifically, the STA is requested for a demonstration taking place November 13 - 19, 2016, in Galveston, TX, during the Texas A&M Winter Institute. Parallel Wireless previously participated in the Winter Institute in November 2015. For that demonstration, Parallel Wireless was granted STA Application No. 0976-EX-ST-2015.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The objective of this demonstration is to showcase the network capabilities of the experimental Parallel Wireless system in the Band 14 public safety LTE band. The demonstration will take place in Galveston, TX, during the Texas A&M Winter Institute. Parallel Wireless was specifically invited to deploy a demonstration of their solution by the Texas A&M University. The attachment submitted shows the station locations of the Parallel Wireless CWS units. The Attachment is an overhead view showing the location of the CWS-3XXX unit and approximate location of the CWS-2XX unit, while the demonstration is occurring. Parallel Wireless will be working in conjunction with the Texas A&M University. The CWS-3XXX base station will be fixed on a pole located at the Ocean & Coastal Studies Building, located on the Texas A&M University. The CWS-2XX unit will be installed on a vessel in the Galveston Bay. Using handsets from Sonim Technologies, Parallel Wireless will demonstrate voice and data over the Band 14 network. There is no commercial activity or mission-critical telecommunications support being provided as part of this demonstration. Rather, the demonstration is proof-of-concept. A point of contact for the event is Walt Magnussen, Phd. Dr. Magnussen may be reached at (979) 845-5588. Parallel Wireless respectfully requests consideration of this request and will provide all cooperation and assistance needed.
