Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Parallel Wireless seeks to perform a demonstration of a prototype network system cellular base station in the Band 14 public safety LTE band. Parallel Wireless’s existing licenses do not cover the area and dates of the demonstration. Specifically, the STA is requested for a demonstration taking place July 18, 2016 to July 21, 2016 in public outdoor space around the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH, during the Republican National Convention. More information regarding the Republican National Committee may be found at http://convention.gop/about.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  The objective of this demonstration is to showcase network capabilities of the experimental Parallel Wireless system in the Band 14 public safety LTE band. The demonstration was requested by the Governors Office, specifically the Program Manager for FirstNet Ohio. Specifically, the STA is requested for a demonstration in public outdoor space around the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, OH, during the Republican National Convention. The demonstration is taking place in association with Columbus Police Department, Cleveland Division of Emergency Medical Service, Cleveland Division of Fire, Cleveland Division of Police, Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Secret Service, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Ohio Emergency Management Agency, and Federal Bureau of Investigation. This demonstration will utilize up to 3 CWS-3XXX and 1 CWS-210 units from Parallel Wireless to provide Band 14 LTE coverage. The CWS-3XXX base stations will be fixed units at various locations outdoors, surrounding the Republican National Convention. Station Locations 1-4 in Attachment A are an overhead view showing the approximate locations of the CWS-3XXX units. Please note, one station location will not be utilized as only 3 fixed units will be used, after a site survey. Turning to the CWS-210 unit, this unit will be installed in a law enforcement vehicle that will be driven between the Public Viewing Areas, surrounding Quicken Loans Arena. The applicant submits two attachments with this STA Application. The first attachment, Attachment A, is an overhead view of the approximate Station Locations of the CWS-3XXX units. The second attachment, Antenna Drawings, are vertical profile pictures of the total structures surrounding each of the Station Locations, giving the approximate height in meters. The man-made structures consist of various buildings in downtown Cleveland, none of which the applicant believes are an aeronautical hazard. There is no commercial activity or mission-critical telecommunications support being provided as part of this demonstration. Rather, the demonstration is proof-of-concept. Parallel Wireless respectfully requests consideration of this request and will provide all cooperation and assistance needed. Parallel Wireless understands that the proper review of an STA request may take several weeks, and is therefore submitting this request on the same day that they were notified.
