PacketHop provides comprehensive incident area networking solutions for Homeland
Security. PacketHop is commercializing software based, mobile ad hoc wireless network
and application technologies developed by SRI International (Stanford Research
Institute). Research at SRI was conducted over 25 years and involved over $50 million in
funding from DARPA and other military departments.

This application covers testing under various deployment scenarios, propagation studies,
data throughput analyses and demonstrations to potential customers, pursuant to Sections
5.3 (d), (e), and (i) of the Commission’s Rules.

Equipment utilizes orthogonal frequency division multiplex (OFDM) emissions with
quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) and phase shift key modulation (PSK).
Equipment will be under the control of PacketHop at all times of operation. PacketHop
acknowledges that operation of this equipment may not cause interference to other
authorized services and must accept interference in accordance with the requirements of
Section 5.111 of the Commission’s Rules.
