Application Narrative for Proposed Special Equipment Program

Proposed Program

The GM Validation Center is a General Motors facility in Warren, Michigan. The
campus is home to 16,000 GM engineers, designers, and technicians and has been the
center of the company's engineering effort for 50 years. GPS navigational systems are
developed and tested in this facility. Bringing the GPS Signal inside these testing rooms
will greatly enhance the ability to more efficiently and effectively test, manage and
develop these systems.

Our proposed set up is already in use and specified in the approved application to re-
radiate GPS Signals (WD2XTF). The proposed equipment is of a design and power
output identical to that kit which has been licensed to re-radiate in their test lab.

GPS Repeater Kit P/N: HNRRKIT-N/5/110

Objectives
We seek to accomplish the following objectives:
   1. Illumination of our development and test areas with GPS Signals
   2. Further design, development and enhancement of existing products and new
       product testing
   3. Ability to troubleshoot and repair previously manufactured equipment

Contribution to Radio Art
Projects are currently under way at GM ONSTAR to provide better and more useful GPS
navigational systems to incorporate GPS-derived information (position, speed, and
heading) in a variety of innovative applications to improve vehicular navigational
systems.
