Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Emergency authorization requested to assist forest fire operations of the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (CAL FIRE). CAL FIRE POC: [email protected]; 209-670-5729. Northrop Grumman stop buzzer and POC: Jimmy Vargas, [email protected]; 661-221-3142. CAL FIRE contract No. 7UI20F626. Operational need is immediate through fire season in January.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Northrop Grumman aircraft under contract with CAL FIRE to employ real-time optical sensor package for surveillance, fire perimeter updates, fire and airmass behavior analysis and reporting to CAL FIRE and U.S. Forestry Service. Highj definition imagery also will be used to do damage assessment, burned area analysis, and vegetative health indices.
