        Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation Application for STA

        Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation (NGSC) in the attached application
applies for Special Temporary Authority (STA) to test an Active, Electronically Scanned
Antenna (AESA) with a very broad band of performance, 50 MHz to 950 MHz. The test
antenna will be evaluated in Transmit at discrete frequencies.

       The transmitter is a Northrop Grumman experimental design using commercial
components. The waveform generator is an Agilent N5173B EXG X-Series Microwave
Analog Signal Generator. The signal is split to 24 separate line feeds and amplified by
Teledyne A2CP2596 amplifiers and a final stage using Comtec AV-C203CS-001
amplifiers. Each of the 24 final stage amplifiers has a maximum output of 120 watts, or
2880 watts total. Final ERP is 55.5 kilowatts.
