Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
This STA License is necessary to authorize radio transmission of data from the NanoRacks Mars Outpost experiment aboard the SpaceX Upper stage in low earth orbit. The mission operation will last between a few hours and a day after launch, approximately, until the second stage deorbits. The requested period of validity for the license is 6 months, to allow for slips in the launch.
