Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Short term L band signals will be generated near (few kilometers) the GOES reception systems to test for interference susceptibility. Signals will be from an Agilent (Keysight) signal generator N5171 with a dipole antenna. Also we would use a LTE 4G signal generator. Signal levels would be less 20 milliwatts.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  To support NOAA / NESDIS (under contract) for GOES System Communication. Microcom technically supports NOAA / NESDIS (under contract) for GOES System Communication. Microcom operates direct satellite reception for the Data Collection Service and LRIT / HRIT. A near future task is to define the reception systems susceptibility to interference. Where as these and nearby frequencies have been in the Federal domain exclusively this is no longer the case. Microcom intends to generate low level L band signals to define this susceptibility. Tests would always be manned and of short duration ( minutes for each data point)
