Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
A permanent license is not required, as CubeSat expected mission duration is 6 months. Operation will cease when the CubeSat deorbits.
Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
In collaboration with MIT and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, to operate a 3U CubeSat in Low Earth Orbit. and communicate research data to demonstrate measurement of cloud top temperature, sea surface temperature, and ocean color data using infrared and visible imagers on a CubeSat. Two FLIR BOSON 320, 14mm f/1.0, 16deg HFOV cameras and the mvBlueFOX-IGC200wC camera with a KOWA LM16JC 2/3 16mm F1.4 Manual Iris C-MOUNT lens will be used on the satellite.
