File No. 1533-EX-ST-2016

PURPOSE OF STA AND FREQUENCY COORDINATION

The purpose of this STA is to test an automobile racing communications system for voice and
telemetry communications that is in the developmental stage. The tests will occur at a racing
event at Circuit of the Americas Motor Speedway, Austin, Texas by a single racing team over a
two-day period November 25 and 26, 2016. The race team deploying this system in a private
testing program will be Williams Formula One. The race team will use the communications
system on a developmental testing basis on behalf of and overseen by MRTC Motorsport
Communications. It will consist of mobile and portable transceivers using specific VHF simplex
channels and a single, 4 MHz bandwidth telemetry channel centered at 1535 MHz. AFTRCC
coordination for the microwave channel has been applied for and is pending. The confirmation of
the coordination when received will be added to this application as an amendment.

The event will be at Circuit of the Americas Motor Speedway, November 25 and 26, 2016.

The applicant requires eleven specific VHF channels for simplex voice operations using
11K2F3E emissions.

The applicant has consulted the ULS database with respect to the UHF channels sought and
proposes what are believed to be unoccupied channels in the area of the raceway.

The “stop buzzer” contact on site on behalf of the applicant and GT3 Racing will be Mr. Daniel
