Application for Special Temporary Authority
File No. 0780-EX-ST-2019

PURPOSE OF STA AND FREQUENCY COORDINATION

The purpose of this STA is to further test an automobile racing communications system for voice
and telemetry that is in the developmental stage. The tests will occur at a single, two-day test
session in California at the Sonoma Raceway. The system will be deployed at Sonoma by the
Mercedes-Benz Race Team. The race team will use the communications system on a
developmental testing basis on behalf of and overseen by MRTC Motorsport Communications.

The dates during 2019 when this system will be deployed are June 1-2, 2019 inclusive.

The applicant requires six paired UHF frequencies as specified in this application for duplex and
simplex voice transmissions to and from the race vehicles and the pit crews.

The applicant has consulted the ULS database with respect to the UHF channels sought and
proposes what are believed to be unoccupied channels in the area of the Sonoma Raceway.

The “stop buzzer” contact on site on behalf of the applicant is Mr. Rob Chant, whose mobile
number is +44 (0) 7566 292719. If a stop buzzer United States telephone contact is called for,
undersigned counsel will serve as a stop buzzer contact by mobile phone at (301) 351-3795
which will be available consistently throughout the test period.

Should any interference be complained of, operation on the selected channel pair will cease
immediately and not resume unless and until all interference is resolve to the reasonable
satisfaction of the complaining licensee.
