The prototype satellite communications terminal will participate in Army-sponsored short term satellite communications demonstration at Fort Dix New Jersey. The existing Experimental Permit (Form 442) had requested operation in the Bedford MA area only.

Please explain the purpose of operation:
The prototype terminal will be part of an Army communications demonstration whose purpose is to assess new technologies that can provide the solder with a communications advantage on the battlefield. Depending on the outcome of the demonstration, some of the technologies demonstrated can be potentially integrated into future Army programs.
