Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
M/A-Com, Inc. (M/A-Com) holds an Experimental License, WC2XZK, covering operations in all of the Land Mobile frequencies where M/A-Com provides equipment. Currently this license is for operation at two sites in Lynchburg, VA, two sites in Lowell, MA and one site in Harrisburg, PA. However, in this case the radio equipment requires evaluation for ten days (November 10-20, 2006) at a trade show in Altamonte Springs, FL.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  Demonstrating land mobile radio equipment at a trade show. M/A-Com is a major supplier of critical communications equipment for Land Mobile Radio (LMR) users, particularly the Public Safety Community. The equipment developed and manufactured by M/A-Com includes conventional and trunked raios and systems for all LMR frequency bands. Additionally, M/A-Com offers systems solutions permitting interoperability regardless of differing radio equipment operating frequency, communications protocal, and/or manufacturer, which is an occurence common to communities nationwide. M/A-Com respectfully requests the Commission grant a Special Temporary Authority for evaluaiton of radio equipment at the location designated in this application. Upon receipt of the Special Temporary Authorization, M/A-Com will notify all incumbent licensees within 15 km of the referenced location of their intent to demonstrate the equipment and will provide local contact information in the unlikely event of interference.
