Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
Applicant proposes to conduct short-term technology testing, first at its Rockville facility (indoor testing only), and second at its Wateron campus. Because the operations are limited in scope and duration, an STA is appropriate.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  This short-term testing will involve utilizing handheld devices leveraging a 5G network to task and provide two-way communication between users and a ground based 5G hub that will relay information to a network of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). The aircraft will be operated consistent with FAA Part 107 and will not exceed 400 feet AGL in altitude. All outdoor testing operations will be conducted exclusively at the Lockheed Martin Waterton campus. Applicant proposes to use the N71 channel band, consistent with the capabilities of the radio.
