Pursuant to Section 5.56 of the Commission‘s rules, AT&T Corp hereby requests Special
Temporary Authority to conduct testing of equipment and propagation phenomena at the
various frequency levels. It will allow testing of new experimental equipment and
antenna‘s to make better use of the frequency spectrum. We will be filing for a new
experimental license to replace our old license with call sign KB2XTH, which went to
Lucent Technologies at the split of company.

Following is the pertinent information corresponding to this request:

1. AT&T Corp
     1200 Peachtree St., NE — 16N01
     Atlanta, GA 30309

2. Our license KB2XTH was transferred to Lucent Technologies during our company‘s
   recent split and we would like to continue our experimental testing.

3. Operation will be in accordance with Section 5.202(a)of the Commission‘s rules.

4. AT&T Corp had previously held experimental licenses at these frequencies for these
   purposes. With the trivesture of AT&T Corp into separate companies and the transfer
   of AT&T Bell Laboratories to Lucent Technologies the existing licenses were
     transferred to Lucent Technologies. AT&T Corp still has part of the laboratories
     to conduct various experimental development of ideas, equipment and has a need
     to do various testing.

5. Upon FCC approval of STA.

6.   Class of station: XD, FX, MO
     Call sign: New
     Nature of service: Experimental


7. Within the Continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

8, 9, 10 & 11. (SEE ATTACHMENT 1)

Special Conditiong:


(1)   The station identification requiremente of Section 5.182 of the
Commiséion‘se Rules are warived.


(2) Licensee should be aware that other stations may be licensed on
theae frequencies and if any interference occurs,     the licensee of
this authorization will be subject to immediate shut down.


(3) Tranamissions in the 3700—4200.    5§925—6425 MHMz bands shall be
based on prior coordination with existring earth station licensees
located with the coordination distance contoure.


{4) All operation on Common Carrier frequencies is subject to prior
coordination with authorized independent or MCC users in operational
arca.



(5}   Any operation in the 1850—1§990 and 2130—220¢ MHz2 kands must be
coordinated with the existing and future ugers to avoid interference.
