Section 2.805(e)(2) provides that no prior authorization is required for demonstrations at a trade show if
the device is operated at or below the maximum power level specified in Section 15.209(a). Section
15.209(a) specifies a maximum field strength level of 500 microvolts per meter, measured at 3 meters, for
devices operating above 960 MHz.

That said, applicant is aware that in prior correspondence, OET has indicated that the trade show
exemption is not available for operations in the restricted bands, even when the operation is below the
maximum field strength level. Kymeta proposes to operate in the 11.7 – 12.75 GHz band. Section
15.205(a) identifies 10.6 – 12.7 GHz as a restricted band.
