STA Application
IWCE Convention Demonstration
STA File Number 1730-EX-ST-2017

This STA Application proposes the use of Television Channel 14 for short-range
demonstration and operation of JVCKenwood products within the Orange County,
Florida Convention Center in Orlando, and as well the use of 800 MHz conventional and
900 MHz land mobile channels, and the band 1920-1930 MHz for demonstration of
products at a large land mobile radio show.

An engineering study has been conducted relative to the use of UHF TV Channel 14,
which revealed that no interference will be caused to any over-the-air television station or
low power television station. All demonstration operation will be inside the Orange
County Convention Center. There will be no interference to any television viewer from
operation in the 470-476 MHz band. The application also proposes the use of portions of
the 800 and 900 MHz land mobile bands for very low-power demonstrations of
JVCKenwood radio products at the IWCE land mobile radio show during March 3-10 of
2018. Use of the 800 and 900 MHz bands follows all Part 90 rules. Use of the 1920-1930
MHz band is for the Digital Enhanced Cordless Telephone (“DECT”) channels for
demonstration of a Part 15 wireless intercom product that has not yet received a grant of
equipment authorization and is not yet being marketed or sold.

The “stop-buzzer” contact for this operation will be Angie Seay who can be reached at
770-497-3964. Additionally, regulatory counsel for JVCKenwood can be reached for
stop-buzzer contacts at the following mobile number: 301-351-3795.

The STA sought is similar to STAs requested and granted in 2005 through 2016 for
operation and demonstration of UHF, 800 MHz and 900 MHz Equipment Authorized
devices at the IWCE trade show when it was located in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Prior
