Re: Intel STA Application for providing Emergency Wireless Internet Backhaul for Red
Cross operations in New Orleans, LA and Biloxi, MISS Disaster Areas

STA File Number: 0530-EX-ST-2005

Dear Mr. Kennedy,

On behalf of my client Intel Inc., I am requesting that the referenced application be
handled immediately so that the equipment Intel is donating for Red Cross
communications can be installed and operated immediately in the disaster areas of New
Orleans and Biloxi.

I have completed the filing as best as possible given the uncertain conditions in the area.
Basically the equipment and antennas are the same as those that have been used for other
Intel STAs and Experimental Licenses.

Per our recent conversation I have listed power and EIRP as peak values. Average values
are approximately 7 dB lower (factor of 5).

Intel will be ready to deploy on 6 September and I am hoping the STA could be granted
by that time. I realize some information details usually present in other STA filings are
not presented in this filing, but given the urgency and the magnitude of the need in the
affected areas, I am hoping the Commission will be able to assist by granting this STA in
time for the 6 September start date.

If you have questions or need further information, I will do my best to accommodate you,
I’ll be on cell phone 2 September after 11 AM your time. Thanks in advance for your
help in this matter.

Sincerely,
