This is short term experiment, not lasting longer than 6 months.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  To investigate the capabilities and benefits of synthetic aperture radar in gathering information at wildland fire sites. This is in support of the US Forest Service in determining characteristics of the fires, to be able to appropriately manage the potential dangers. Operation of the radar will be limited to the site and time of the fires.
