Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
An STA is necessary in order to permit the applicant to conduct video production operations at various sporting events including car races and baseball games in and near Los Angeles, California and Phoenix, Arizona from the Goodyear Blimp, during the period July 1, 2010 through January 1, 2011. Normal video production activities in authorized LTTS bands pursuant to Goodyear licenses cannot be conducted due to overcrowding by licensed broadcast auxiliary and CARS licensees in the Los Angeles and Phoenix markets.
Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:
Video production from the Goodyear Blimp, including video transmissions from the blimp to production trucks located at the site of televised athletic and newsworthy events and automobile races. Video production from the Goodyear Blimp, including video transmissions from the blimp to production trucks located at the site of these televised athletic events. As is always the case, all operation will be coordinated in advance with the frequency coordinators of the Society of Broadcast Engineers, and, in the Amateur Radio allocations, with the American Radio Relay League, Inc. Should any interference be reported, Goodyear operation will cease immediately and not resume until resolved to the satisfaction of the licensees affected. Video production from the Goodyear Blimp, including video transmissions from the blimp to production trucks located at the site of several televised events, including sporting events, automobile racing events, and major league baseball, explained in detail pursuant to the attached narrative.
