CubeSat Mission: Boston University ANDESITE

The overall goal of the Andesite Mission is to measure relative variations of the Earth’s magnetic field as
it flies through the aurora. This will support mapping the current densities due to energetic charged
particles moving into and out of the atmosphere, in the polar regions where the aurora occurs, to develop
an improved understanding of space weather.
The Experimental License requested by Globalstar, is necessary to authorize radio transmission of data to
the Andesite satellite and receive data from the Andesite satellite. The bi directional link between
Globalstar and Andesite will support telecommands uplink, and data downlink.
