Special Temporary Authority application - Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
The Georgia Tech Research Corporation is working with the National RCS Test Facility (NRTF) under the U.S. Air Forces 781st Test Squadron to prototype, demonstrate, and deliver a high power measurement array for range measurements. GTRI has completed preliminary design work on previous contracts and is working on this effort to complete design efforts, develop and fabricate prototype hardware, demonstrate hardware, and deliver prototypes to NRTF. The applicant seeks a STA for the purpose of preliminary Factory Acceptance Testing before shipping the antenna across country for Site Acceptance Testing. GTRI does not have an internal location in which the system can be fully assembled and turned on at full power and therefore requires a temporary experimental license to radiate before delivery to the U.S. Government.
