This experimental license application is for the purpose of development of a Traffic
Advisory System (TAS) and Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System (TCAS I). In
accordance with TSO-C147 and TSO-C118, 1030 MHz transmit and 1090 MHz receiver
operations are used for interrogation by own aircraft and reception from Mode C and
Mode S transponders from target aircraft. Development of this product requires
experimental transmit and receive capability at the Garmin International facility at 1200
E 151st Street in Olathe, KS 66062 to test and prove product compliance and
performance. This requires installation of a TCAS antenna on the roof of the Garmin
International facility. The antenna is planned to be mounted on a mast whose height is
lower than other structures on the facility roof such as air conditioner screening.
