In support of various US DoD contracts, GIRD Systems is occasionally required by its customers to
demonstrate HF communication system performance. Typical field test locations may include military
installations, facilities of GIRD or other defense contractors, or privately-owned facilities. These tests
typically take place for a few days, and only a handful of tests are expected take place in the coming
year.

Unfortunately, the specific locations and dates of such requested demonstrations are not generally
finalized more than a few weeks in advance, an impractical timeframe in which to obtain a license or STA
for a specific location.

GIRD therefore has requested an experimental license for the entire U.S. Tests conducted at military
facilities will be subject to DoD advance approval. Furthermore, GIRD has agreed to notify AFTRCC in
advance of testing in coordinated frequency bands.
