Explanation
Please explain in the area below why an STA is necessary:
DRS Sustainment Systems, Inc. (DRS SSI) would like to demonstrate its radar system, the AN/PPS-5C, for homeland security applications. A guidance has been received from the MCEB of the NTIA for Department of Defense (DOD) uses of this system, MCEB J-12 Number 7792/3. NTIA has advised DRS SSI that an experimental license will be required from the FCC for non-DOD demonstations of the radar that are required in the pursuit of homeland security applications that are not yet covered by goverement contract.

Purpose of Operation
Please explain the purpose of operation:  This STA will be used to allow the AN/PPS-5C Radar System to be demonstrated to personnel of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and to personnel of potential prime contractors to the DHS.
