                                          EXHIBIT I
                                     STA Extension Request

Comtech Systems, Inc. ("Comtech") hereby submits this request for an extension of Special
Temporary Authority ("STA") issued under Call Sign WE9XUR (File No. 0263-EX-ST-2012).
The existing STA was set to expire on October 18, 2012. Comtech continues to periodically
conduct experimental testing of its Transportable Fast Link Antenna ("TFLA") system with the
higher power levels authorized under the STA. Comtech hereby seeks an additional, final six
month period to continue testing of its TFLA system for further development and demonstration
purposes with the United States Marine Corp. which is utilizing the TFLA system.

Comtech submits that a grant of this request for an extension of STA is necessary and in the
public interest because it will allow Comtech to support its order with the United States Marine
Corp., thus advancing national security efforts.

Because the equipment is technically incapable of providing station identification, Comtech
respectfully requests a waiver of the station identification provisions of Section 5.115 of the
Commission's rules, 47 C.F.R. § 5.115.

Comtech acknowledges that an additional FCC grant of this STA extension is deemed temporary
in nature. Comtech also acknowledges that it will continue to adhere to the Special Condition as
authorized under the original STA. Namely “Licensee shall coordinate the use of 4700 MHz in
Orlando, Florida with the Eastern Area Frequency Coordinator (EAFC), scott.connolley@patrick.af.mil,
(321)494-5838.” Further, if Comtech needs any additional authority beyond the additional
extension period requested it will submit an application for permanent experimental
authorization.

For the foregoing reason, Comtech hereby requests an extension of STA until April 18, 2013.

As referenced in the original STA request, the stop buzzer contact for this experiment is Paul
Kelly at Comtech, tel: (407) 854-1950 ext. 3050, mobile: (321) 948-4315, e-mail:
