                                                                  Experimental License KF2XJZ
                                                                                 FCC Form 702
                                                                                    March 1998

                                          EXHIBIT 1

The instant application seeks renewal of the license for Experimental Station KF2XJZ. In
the preparation of this application, it was discovered that an application had not been filed to
assign the license of Experimental License KF2XJZ to Cox Radio, Inc. ("CRI"). CRI and the
licensee, KFI, Inc. ("KFI"), are and were, respectively, wholly—owned subsidiaries of Cox
Broadcasting, Inc.

In 1996, KFI filed an application to assign the licenses of co—owned radio broadcast
stations KFI(AM}/KOST(FM), Los Angeles, California, and KACE(FM), Inglewood, California,
to CRI in applications which have already been approved by the Commission, pursuant to
authority delegated to the Mass Media Bureau, (BAL/H—960823GG—GI et seq.) and
consummated on September 30, 1996. Inadvertently, an application for the pro forma
assignment of the experimental license was never filed. KFI and CRI have now filed such an
application.

Upon consummation of the above—referenced transaction, KFI was dissolved. Cox Radio,
Inc. is now the licensee of KFI(AM)/KOST(FM), Los Angeles, California, KRTO(FM), West
Covina, California, and KACE(FM), Inglewood, California.

CRI respectfully requests that the Commission process the renewal application and
assignment application simultaneously and grant the renewal application in the name of CRI.
