This one—year extension is to allow additional time to evaluate the results of previous measurements that could assist in changing the existing operational constraints currently being used by 404—MHz wind profilers (see Attachment). The results of this evaluation will be reviewed at subsequent meetings of the 404—MHz working group, chaired by Gary Patrick/NTIA, and should provide the basis for developing long—term procedures that will allow 404—MHz wind profilers to continue to operate beyond September 30, 1996.
